Illustr8 Case studies: Gingerlily Cosmetics
Websites are one of the best sales tools you can invest in. If you promote them right, they are worth their weight in gold and can be more effective than most other forms of marketing.
In the spring of 2006 illustr8 began designing the new website for one of the UK’s leading cosmetic design companies, Gingerlily.
The first stage was to meet the client to establish what it is they wanted to achieve from the site and who their target market was. From this meeting it was established that they wanted the site to explain who they were and what they did to potential future clients and also to show off their portfolio of work.
Understanding this helps in the creation of any design, whether for a website, product or a new corporate id. Taking the information away with us, we were able to start creating designs in Illustrator, Photoshop, HTML and Flash for how we saw the site looking and how it would be used. The first stage of the site was created and we published this onto the internet for the client to view and provide feedback on.
Any site we create is published on the internet during the design stage under a test name to enable the client to monitor progress and see their site taking shape.
With the client excited about what they were seeing, we were then able to develop the site, creating a brilliant sales tool and something the client loved showing off to there own customers.
