Illustr8 Case studies: Alton Towers
This project was created for Alton Towers to showcase their new Mutiny Bay park attraction by illustrating this in an animated form. The main idea was to build a three dimensional book with two dimensional old school pop up animation giving the look and feel of an old adventure book to entice the user into the story and help generate interest in visiting Alton Towers to experience the attraction.
The big technical challenge in this project was to integrate 3D renders in a Flash environment with two dimensional bitmap animation. Another challenge was to create the sound effects for this project and to incorporate them in sync with the animation using Studio Pro Tools and then to incorporate the sound file into Flash.
